Yes. It’s possible to have a relaxing Thanksgiving Day…even for Mom. When pies, muffins, soups and side dishes are made by you and your friends at a Teaming up cooking event you can plan to enjoy your family without having to be in the kitchen all day and night cooking and cleaning up. Here are a few ideas of Thanksgiving helpers that can make their home in the freezer until your ready to bake them in the oven.
- Bread – cornbread, apple muffins or coffee cake
- Soups
- Sweet Potato Dishes
- Pies – apple, pumpkin, or pecan
- Even Turkey*
*My aunt made the best turkey I’ve had in a long time when she baked the turkey a few weeks ahead and then froze the turkey in its juices. When ready to serve she took it from the freezer, covered it with foil and warmed it in the oven. The turkey seemed even more moist and delicious than if she had baked it that day.
